What I miss most now that I’m a mom.

Let’s be real. Motherhood is hard!!
Sure the baby is cute and a part of you can’t even fathom life before the baby but then you think…

  • My body is not my own anymore!
  • I just want to sleep when I want
  • My house is always a disaster, I used to be neat and tidy
  • No more podcasts or audiobooks
  • No more seeing friends when I want to
  • My hair is so dirty and don’t get me started on my unshaved legs
  • I don’t want to share everything

The struggle is real. You are not a bad mom for thinking these thoughts. You will find your way again. You will forever be a momma to this sweet baby but you will feel more like yourself again.

You will find ways to get space, laugh, be with your friends, read books, listen to explicit music, etc…

It is coming.

Here are a few things to get you started:

  • Make a list of the top 3 things you miss. Talk these over with your husband/partner and find ways that you can make them happen. Have your husband do this too!
  • Find a mom group, bible study, or online community/course.
  • Don’t forget that basic hygiene should be a non-negotiable. Baths, showers, and shaving are NOT “me” time.

Still, feeling lost? I did too, and still sometimes do. It took me a few years to really start finding myself again.
